42 Grams
By carlosjackal
My flesh shall rot
So tattoo my bones
From skull to toe
Let not
One white dot
Show through the colour
And let not
These chains
Piercing
My face
To yours
And yours
To mine
Ever break
Ever part
The blood swept from our hearts
No
Our 42 grams shall fly these shells
Our flesh shall rot
But our bones remain as legacy

Evidence of the soul makes us believe or at the very least, think. Nice work, my friend.

"So tattoo my bones", bones are the one thing that we all have in common in the end when it all rots away. If only we really could tattoo our bones, right? This was indeed short, but it packed a powerful punch. Thank you for writing this, friend! Queen Reb:).

Great concept. For me, the words come easy. Its the content that is the hard part. And this is rich with it. The imagery is hauntingly beautiful as well.

It's amazing how so many people write on this same topic yet you conveyed it in a way that entraps your attention and emotion still. You have talent.

this feels like it should be read from a stage, like mcbeth, booming in a strong voice filling a theatre as the audience is stuck silent in rapt attention.....nicely done indeed
