For Eric, Still (3)

By Salty Ships

Filling my pockets with stones
and wading into the ocean

This is
what it is
to love you

Pebbles of gold
and diamond
and light
but the waves
they suffocate.

This is eloquent and precise in language, but comes across in a casual, factual tone. I like the notion that what is weighing you down is precious...but you still suffocate. Interesting! Ciao, T/S Scholar
