Fleetingly awake
By TropicalSnowstorm
Early mornings are yours now.
Clock glaring digital numbers through
sleep blurred eyes, and it reads
4:29 am
again. Sounds of your breathing
while
legs move toward me with gentle
imperialism and I try to recall
days before you.
Closed eyes, lower lip slightly
pouting, as dim light frames your
face. Mind fills with delicate
verses
that will dissipate and never make
it onto paper.

Love poetry makes me want to fall in love. Such a light and wry observational tone. Effortless but fruitful. Bountiful. You are in the zone ( but don't think about it.)

I couldn't help but smile the whole time I read this. Your description is enchanting, and your thoughts are quite delicate and sexy. It was a pleasure tip toeing across your dream scape. -smiles and bows

So soothing. Quiet and slow like ones early morning pondering would be. Quite beautiful and decadent in a minimalist fashion. It's 4:05am and this was a perfect poem to slow the world down just enough for another try at sleep. As always, hats off to your way with words. Thank you for sharing. -CT
