hopelessly.poetic.
By Six-Out
sleep.love.
the floodgates are open-
but you're safe. with your head on the armrest.
and your bags too heavy
on the floor.
I can see the weight of the world in your eyes- when they're open.
and I can tell that you're worried.
I'd keep you safe if I could.
but they'd all tell me I'm just a romantic
the hopeless is implied
and I'm staring helplessly
as the chances- drift and float
and when you stood up.
I saw you kind of smile.
me a goodbye.
and even though I think we both know
that I'll never-ever. see you again.
when you left my sight- I missed you as if
we'd been together for ages.
when- in a sense. we'd never met.
and they tell me I'm hopeless.
a romantic wouldn't have let you walk away.
empty handed with just my daydreams
and silent thoughts.
of late nights and terminal trists
it's times like this
that I know I'm a poet.

Not even going to take the time to read all those comments...I know what they must convey. This speaks to me of time...and even the smallest increment can feel like ages when the emotions brought on by someone we meet feels endless. I knew someone only briefly...but I will miss them for all eternity. I love your writing. Please don't ever stop seeking inspiration...wouldn't want your words to ever end.

I stumbled upon this piece and though it appears that it doesn't need any more praise...It touched the poet inside of me.

Words fail me. Except to say, Falling in love is so easy when caught in moments like that you describe, but, man, how it can paralyse us, too. I hope you come back with some more stuff soon.

Funny the hypocracy that follows the notions of being a romantic...misunderstood, and then called out when you finally give in. A poet at heart, brah, thats all you need to be. Saddening story (excellent crafting) that continually plays out...Corey

It get's to me sometimes. It's almost a blessing AND a curse. Sorta like Spiderman :D You always hit the mark man. Always, and never leave me wanting more, wishing the work would just keep going at the same time. Excellent.

I too really love the lines quoted by Dying_Angel, this is indeed a delicate, beautiful piece that is coloured with sadness. Love your work. Ciao, T/S
