Music Moves Me

By ColorMeToxic

If today were a bad day,
 I'd be layin' down,
 blanket pulled up
 all around me,
 with
 noise canceling head phones
 to drown out life
 and with
 eyes closed,
 I'd just
 listen to the Cello weep
 while Ebony and Ivory
 empathetically
 do the very same
 and then so do I
because, sometimes it feels so good to cry.

Nothing releases some pent up energy like allowing yourself the space to drown in music that draws out the deepest sadness. I love that feeling too - XXOO Scholar

You've touched upon something that's very dear to my heart...music is in the top 3 of important things in my life, the range of emotions it can bring out in me is like nothing else...

its been awhile but i remember using music as a catalyst to really spark the emotions. its a place of surrender to lose yourself in the music. my favorite is sarah mcclachlin, she really pulls out the sadness in me. sometimes i dont exactly know what im crying about but the music just makes it that much stronger and a good cry is needed once in awhile when were down. im not there in that need for sadness to overcome me, but it sure sounds good to completely give myself to the music. excellent beth. thanks for sharing this part of you.

It does have a purging effect and wonderful for dry eyes sufferers too. So good to see another post from you and this made me want to spin my own cocoon, cheers!

You wouldn't realize how appropriate this is, considering the circumstances. A good cry is as cleansing as deep meditation, it does one better to stare headlong at their mortal self. We're all human; thinking and feeling creatures Scholar
