Interstellar (GhettoZombie, lupus tenebrae, and ColorMeToxic)

By GhettoZombie

Tear mirrors iris
Periwinkle tinted hue
Translucent as wax
Ultramarine and violet
Acrid waterfall plummets
In rapid motion,
our thoughts rushing parallel
to a cool lament
-ing quietude, still breathless
save for one more empty prayer.
We're on borrowed time.
In the quiet of the night,
shadows tormenting...
pallid complexion reflects,
a lack of sunshine and sleep.
Solar rays emerge
only within intention
Deep and pure, vibrant
Collective, three troubadours
seek to quash the myth of doom
through stolen evenings,
the hours plagiarize recur
-ring dreams; mending fil
-aments with rebar and a
few old habits on our sleeves;
few tricks up them too.
Cooperative madness,
melting pot of minds.
Patchwork process, assembled
especially carefully.

Intricate weaving,
Phonetic philandering,
Promiscuous, yet
faithful to each destined land
Open, shut, rich, numinous
then rub impressions
into shadows on the wall
and hope something sticks;
perhaps a someone writing
somewhere as a proper noun.
Sore eyes, quiet night,
seeking inspiration from
Stratus covered skies.
Playing peek-a-boo with stars
-tiny shreds of lunar light.
Jubilant sisters
Celeste, Stella, and Luna
Play in the cosmos
As predestined, sun will rise
Putting forth the gift of day
They comb the cold reach
of space for a lightyear of
compassion, and find
only the firm hand of a
Mother trying not to care.
Dying stars collide,
giving life to a new one.
Sad. No one mourns them.
When the day gives way to night,
a hush falls...we close our eyes.

This feels like a kaleidoscope-esque interpretation of space travel's effect on the mind. The numb wariness and the decaying of muscle. The need to fight, and the absence of both day and night. The bleakness that is supreme solitude. At least thats how I felt.

Phenomenal display of poetry that each of you brought to life, each transition giving birth to a deeper meaning. I rather enjoyed the journey and was excited to read something artistically skilled as such. Standing-ovation on an epic artistic piece, definite 10. .hugs. Scholar
