Colour Me Thankful

By lupus tenebrae

Colour me thankful tonight,
in palettes of wonderful shades,
in spite of the obvious rain.

Where was this guardian angel
when we weren’t shooting the breeze?
 Colour me thankful tonight

That we’re a poet and teacher,
an artist and pastel arrays
in palettes and wonderful shades

Are meanings to streets, far away,
enough to be hidden from view
in spite of the obvious rain?
