Bright New Eyes - Part 1: Little Girl.
By Lux
::Little Girl::
/Wraith/
Saffron and saturnine
I walked a dream and wished a waking
But as dawn hit the silent mist
found me suddenly wanton; breaking
Sleep a circle, 'eve to dream
the furrow bent and the plow rusted
Forgot the lilt, silt and soil
learned less of love for those I'd lusted
Sheen of sweet steel I trapped
beneath my palms his locked embrace
Keys and locks hold no magic
the body always remembers disgrace
Silken swallows of flame-lit lies
the bed I'd made had long since born
crushed flowers; I never liked dead things
soles and fingertips long since worn
}{Wrape}{
Bruised black and purple staining
the ledge was metallic, cellular loss
Shed skin from Self, prism to pride
breath had never been higher a cost
Beneath the beautiful, the core exposed
rotten, feverous, wretched, benign
Supped loud on Self, shell peeled away
Corvus: brothers of beak and brine
Bound to heart, braided-in vitals
the sheath that held him near gave break
Diamond eyes, like fastened locks
gave way to a dull, colorless ache
|*Wallow*|
Built to suffer, the Body held-fast
scrubbed clean with silk and feathery down
Self lost her way, carried by doubt
whilst the Body; adorned by staff and crown
Sunk lo' down onto kingly hips
jeweled lengths with which to marvel and ponder
But the Self steered, the body Obeyed
and both were left, unfettered, to wander
Streams and currents held the legends
overflowing and overruneth always; Our cup
The tide had not kept Us Here nor There
but whispered, endlessly, "Wake up. Wake up."
Author's Note:
This is going to be an extremely long piece. I thought best to pull it a part a little, for understanding, and to renounce some dullness.Comments on "Bright New Eyes - Part 1: Little Girl."
