Nightingales

By Ladyhawke

KAITLIN
Pure
Untammed

A lone fair flower
In a world made of tears
A pure, raw beauty surrounds

Color; in a coloress world
~

With a mid-summer melody
sings the song of the nightingale,
he sings of her eternal beauty.

Nights on a whispered willow
a song floats in the cool night air,
with a mid-summer melody.

So pure as the moon watches
a fair girl clad in white as she,
sings the song of the nightingale.

Melodious is the night
carrying ''kaitlin'' on his lips,
he sings of her eternal beauty.

I wrote this for a friend of mine who is graduating. But I owe this all to lupus tenebrae, for if not for him, this poem would not exist at all. Much love....

Astonishing. "Sweet" and "moonlit" is the words I would use to describe the magic of each stanza, but they're also musical. Brava!

Enchanting... yeah, enchanting is the word that comes to this piece. Almost Shakespearean in the images that this enthralls; great work on the mental visuals!

I would like to echo my many compliments already, by saying that it still impresses me. You give yourself far too little credit, I merely provided the tools, you utilized them to vivid perfection. Your love of structure shows, as you easily took to writing this, good show. Scholar
