Muse No More
By ColorMeToxic
You are a broken woman now
you're just a shell
of the woman you
were
when you put me through hell
You told me today
that you are depressed
Part of me wonders
if it's due
to regret
I want you to know
that I have forgiven you
I still have some anger
that I won't show to you
I know
you "didn't mean it"
I know how you felt
I know you far better
than you'll ever know yourself
So I will let be, what is
and love you anyway
after all you are my mother
it's supposed
to be that way
and I know you love me too
as much as
you can
and I think you finally get
It's kids, before man
However things end
I want you to know
You were my muse
but you're not anymore
You are a broken woman now
you're
just a shell
of the woman you were
when you put me through
hell

This must have been a difficult write even though it became a wondeful read. It is painful when we are born to those who don't deserve us but you grasped this theme with a particular grace and gave us a glimpse of your pain in a marvelous way.

Sometimes we have these muses of hate and despair. My mother was my muse of disgrace too, so I totally get it. But this poem shows that you are moving on and realizing that hating takes too much energy and is not worth it. This piece shows a lot of maturity
