In My Place

By ColorMeToxic

I understand the scars will always be there.
You tell me, overtime they will fade.
What do I do when overtime, I don't have scars...
but fresh bleeding wounds of hate?

I want to tell you to go to hell
I want you off my case
I want to make you  feel as I have felt
So you can stand here in my place.

Shivering, cold, all by yourself
I'll leave you, to your new-found fate
Crying tears of anger, can't help you now...
For now, you understand  my hate

So I tell you to go to hell
I say to get off my case
I've made you feel as I have felt...
How did you like standing there...
In my place?

Beautifully written, no one knows what its like to climb out of a dark place until they themselves make that climb.

An exceptional write, standing in your place, forced to understand your hate. Taken out of their comfort zone, thanks for this piece. Scholar
