Happiness

By ColorMeToxic

Happiness,
a dream I chase.

If i should find it
I'll die that day.

Soul to be
forever sad.

Know that now,
I realise that.

Day by day
dream by dream,

the guilt I feel
is killing me.

It comes in waves.
It comes a lot.

Should be used to it
but I'm not.

Wakeful nights,
restless days.

Depression eyes,
Losing weight.

stoic expression,
on my face.

Happiness is,
a dream I chase.

Some people truly believe you can just "snap out of it". Irks me to no end. There are things that can help, medication, finding love, doing things you like, not doing things that bring you down...it all helps...sometimes even counseling, if it's available and you can afford it...but I doubt you wrote that to be given a way to fix it, as us men are wired to trry to help by finding a solution. Women seem to be wired to commiserate...Venus and Mars... I AM sorry you feel the way you do...if there is anything I can do to help, just ask. You summed it up beautifully and succinctly, Beth.

We are what we make of ourselves and we can't blame others or life. We are all we have except in your case because you should find happiness in your talent. It's there and this work proves it.

Yup, that sums up depression. At least happiness is still something you're chasing.
