I already bear
deep within my soul,
with your forked tongue

"Forked tongue of fire" is a perfect description for a venomous verbal assault. It hurts at first bite and then you feel the poison start to suffucate and infect the rest of your being. Fear not, for it is antitoxin for the next bite.
