I Believe in Ghosts (With Evangeline)

By ColorMeToxic

 Hindsight is always twenty/twenty,
and foresight is always so blind.
We think we've made the right decision...
then we realize we haven't, and wish to rewind.

By then it's much too late
time has left us behind
to wallow in our indecision
and slowly lose our mind.

Repercussions teach us lessons
and from them we must learn.
The ghosts of years gone by, come back,
to watch us crash and burn.

Those I-told-you-so sneers
slither and sway as musical regret
of melancholy melodies
and lullabies you can't forget.

Now I ask if you believe,
In ghost from the past, as I do,
coming back to haunt you,
to forever walk beside you?

There's no point in regret, just learning from what happened and doing better next time.
