Searing Blue
By carlosjackal
A penny
A peep
Into bedlam
A lifetime
A mind
In hell
She looks at me
Like I'm love
She looks at me
Through piano keys
Her grey matter
On reverb
Until the echoes
Turn to screams
I lick the pavement
It goes to my head
I lick to taste
Those lovelorn keys
What time is the asylum open?
My baby blue
She still burns bright
So away, away
I'll steal her
I'll steal her away
Tonight
We're both
A fucking nightmare
Our fingertips
Won't let go
Yet our eyes
Are lit like sanctuaries
And our hearts
And our minds
Though torn
Sear with heat
Aglow

I don't feel qualified to leave something as meaningful as this deserves. This is beautiful, simply stated. And one of my favorites from you.

What can be said, when love is real, it's real. Circumstances don't matter much in that respect. As a piano player myself, I love how you incorporated the piano into this poem. Once again, very lovely visuals. Queen Reb:).

I still love this just as much as I did all those years ago. The emotion still kills me.

a love so crazy it might just work,..mental vacation from the outside world where theres nothing but the parallel thought of abstract emotion and all its benefits, to share this state of mind with another appeals heavily to the harmless crazy in me.

I wish I knew the right words to express my feelings after reading this. It's everything lined up perfectly. The perfect song, the perfect emotion..and these..the perfect words. I'm sitting here with tears running down myself. I don't know what these words triggered in me, but I makes me want to find out. Thannk you.

"I'm sitting here with tears running down myself." Your whole comment and bookmark is exactly the reaction I've been hoping for to this piece...But the tears? Wow..I was never expecting that. *HUGS* You've made my week :) Super dope thanks. P.S. We need to drag Mikey back here. I sorely miss his poetic genius.

Yes, we do need Mike back here. I've been away from this place far too long. I am so glad I'm back. I get to read works like this from one of my favorite writers. Write one my friend.

lyrical splendor, mate, Cheers! As the Hatter has noted... the rhythm is powerful and the content entwines a mad love, a love of madness, perhaps...
