Paint me in purple
like a failing sunset
begging to be red again
past my prime
and
so insecure
in my fading age
I wear my colors
like my intentions

several shades
greener than jealousy.
a different hue of
obvious and
going grey.
i am a trainwreck
of my former self.
daft and vindictive.

I am incapable
of truly being anything
but too far gone
like disco
stuck in the corner
gathering dust
stalking shadows.
like a stray cat
leaping at anything
percieved as a threat
feral and so cowardly
running at the slightest flinch
of a hand or voice
alike


pouncing on
wolves
with that
pack instinct.
teeth bared and
waiting to
eat you alive.

spit out those
feeble bones.


always striving
to be the
apha (fe)male
the leading lady
the golden child
picking off the weaklings
remorseless
of my sheepskin disguise

pretending to
win some kind of
prize
by criticizing
the wiser.

maybe i should
keep my nose out
of other peoples'
business.
