Our future...Tense

By SolApathy

…We
Can’t go on
Yet we do
Everyday
Tell me of the torture
Endured
For others sake
Never looking to our pain
Obtuse to the suffering they lay upon our souls
We tread on
For them we walk into the dawn
Through fire & lightning
Fighting & fuming
All in silence
We absorb the darkness in your eyes
Never will you notice our quiet cry
We tread on so you may fly
No promise, no guarantee
Just the hope you will be better than we deserve to
…be

This fits into my life right now too well. I felt this on a level that is uncomfortable. Yet, for all the feelings it dredges up I enjoyed this greatly.

    Twisting.... frightening almost.

Parents sticking it out for the sake of the child. A noble gesture but guessing too that not much is hidden from the young and inquiring mind SA. I too had to make such a decision and decided early-on to cut my losses. I almost never look back, almost. Life can be sweet, and too short to prolong the inevitable in my case. Best of luck for the new year and endeavor to persevere :) Cheers! - Dan
