Eclectic in an Electric Age
By Alchemist
In my teary eyed state
We are all but threads
Mojo, my eight legged friend
Weaves consciousness in
And never
complains again
Molten with depth and farseeing
So real it
grips from riot suits
Roaming life as a bar-scene
The gift
is never given to the fools
Because weapons are social tools
Allure is the god of the goblins
Worldly views with obsolete fury
Pandemonium's guidelines, chaos with rules
Like a freight-train
bearing down
Over fall painted leaves, winter bound
We all
face a trespassers hallowed ground
Bring me the sky and a sliver
of the moon
Make me feel the buzzard’s remorse
Panic makes
my spirit in vessel move
Emotions a fickle iced lake
Of brilliance
and a heathen's chagrin
Tiptoeing until it breaks
Splashing
franticly in dismay
A bedlam of bewilderment
The last straw
that broke the back
Life is a lottery with epic stakes
And
everyone is humiliated direct to face
Unless you’re the lucky
few that catches the breaks
No more cheap sleight of hand tricks
Or lack luster disappearing ace and joker cards
Just gritty gunslinger
poker tables
With bounties on solace
So don't switch your
whip
Ignite the spliff, invite the night
Illuminate defiance,
incite the riot
Eliminate the giants, Illuminati over science
Crusades are violent, excite the mindless
To stop the wilding
out, it’s a drag on as quick as a cell
A rally of understanding
from ignorant shells
So squat at shrines singing Psalms
To
bring Seraphim to stop Siren songs
Sans the sands in sea serpent
scenes
With a velocity in venom and a ferocity unsplintered
This is an incredible intelligence intervention
Slang still shamed
now I'm a sober sage
A slave to the game, eclectic in an electric
age
Of modern surrealism and misplaced rage

"Illuminate defiance, start the riot Eliminate the giants, Illuminati over science." This was a brilliantly crafted write, guess David has the upper hand.

Very cool imagery and flow to this piece! The start-up with the lines "Mojo, my eight legged friend Weaves consciousness in" made me think of Anansi stories, with the trickster spider weaving away behind the scenes. There are many great lines in here, but "illuminati over science" was especially a cool way to phrase that point. Loved it! Ciao, T/S

I'm a fan of alliteration and it was well used here. I also enjoyed the whimsical metaphor and the way they held an undercurrent of fear and violence. This felt Anthem-like. As if breaking free through embracing the reality that surrounds. Great title. Write on brother!
