Realms of the Sky
By Alchemist
Evergreen Foliage dances like a dress escorted by nimble
legs
Against a Carolina blue sky as shifting sheep roll
and float by
Still we know their just wolves in disguise
waiting to growl and strike
But that won't be played
out on this stage adorned by southern skies
Because the
sun punctures their costumes with radiant sepia tones
And
this glowing orb then spills orange paint over the summerscape
The clouds now have their silver lining and a tint of cotton
candy
Our palettes are tantalized but in the distance
there's echo's of grey
That whisper of a blanket shadow
that has only been mentioned
Colors are in a cardinal flux
to usher in the cloaks carnal force
From the reflection off
a shiny source absent the golden torch
As the pendulum swings
the paradigms become black and white
Bats stretch their
wings and felines mischievously play in the streets
Until
the dogs start barking and the roosters awake with their crowing

Being from the south myself, particularly the Carolinas, I can really appreciate what you're describing here! You have done a beautiful job of capturing that southern ambience. Very unique and wonderful style. Well Done!

So nice to read a simply lovely poem from time to time. The words you choose make it easy for the visions behind our eyes to match yours. I love my evergreens... - XXOO
