Universe of Me
By Alchemist
Life reverberates on strings of theory
A vibe of either on a roll or in a hole
And it's nothing like I expected
I remember watching sitcoms and cartoons
And laughing at the deus ex machina situations
Pondering some deep thoughts that echo no truth
Posed by my favorite books and over the top theater
But life just seems to be brief moments of extreme excitement
Followed by prolonged intervals of despair and boredom
With some smiling face as light at the end of the tunnel
A daughter or a sun in the universe of thee
So I smile back at Mother Earth and Father Time
And wonder if the abyss is staring back at me
Lives romanticized as star stuff, what does that really mean
I know science is poetic atleast from what I understand
And if I said I knew anything I would be the colorful jester
But if we are the cosmo's way of understanding itself
Isn't that some sort of cosmic religion, phantom formulas in the sky
So tell me how this makes me any less dead
When my love and lust of consciousness dies
I guess I must just ramble on, a vagabond to the world I know
Bound to my body and it's fond song and dance of reason
The only music with a soul that beats to the rhythm of life
An awakening to an awareness of whatever god may be
And what that means to the existence of me

Science is never-ending and poetic in the most beautiful of way... especially space. There's just so much that we don't, and never will know in our short life times. Maybe it's best if we live doing the things we love rather than reflecting on what more there may be to discover? Excellent write, gives you alot to think about. xoxo

Absolutely beautiful, Alchemist. The progression of your works has been blissful of late. i like the 'deep thoughts that echo no truth'...there are those, and i'm not sure anyone's quite put it into words like that before. We ARE the cosmos' way of understanding itself, and yes, it is a cosmic religion. Man...this is fabulous. Truly you are an Alchemist of the institute of your experience.

Deep and magnificent; I feel it as a coil of questions and answers.

Questioning may lead to answers, on an individual level...maybe. If our existence was meant to be understood, I believe we'd have figured it out by now. Part of the human condition seems to seek and never definitively find. Science is interesting, but it is also a never-ending pursuit. We don't really want all the answers, otherwise life would cease as we know it, and that's not really what we want. Finding what is really desired from this human existence may be the key to individual happiness, or at least the satisfaction of enough knowledge to let go and just enjoy the ride. I enjoyed this read as I relate and have many of the same thoughts. Thanks for the reflection - XXOO
