One Republic
By Alchemist
It is not enough to resemble a revolution
Your words must
echo from cradles and graves
Because a nation is only fully just
When there is only cadavers to say otherwise
So wear
your emblems well my brothers
Drape your sisters in the lingerie
of the flag
Raise up high the crest of your fathers and mothers
As we are all scandalously clad in our pride

There is a stark difference between patriots in America today. Those that rile against the government but are constantly supporting the wars unjustly started by that government - they do understand that the military is a branch of government. They don't want to pay taxes, but are ok with spending billions every month through the government to fund these wars. And they wave their flags the highest and scream the loudest and have no idea what the wars are really all about. Damn, sorry for ranting in a comment, good piece, it obviously invoked some thoughts for me ;) - XXOO
