The Drake and the Spider
By Alchemist
Have you ever seen water soak in
Or fire burn through
and smoke dance along
Every beam of light that flows in
From the flames that watched ice melt into a pool
Or smoldered
over a love so cool
At the peak of this euphoria
When that last drop of ecstasy
Paints your cerebral cortex
Just relax and let your membrane
Serenade you with illusions
Like the fable of the azure drake and black widow
Because
the web always seems more silky and smooth
When peeked from
someone else's view
But if the spider had wings to
fly
She would never become
The archetype of her own desire
The architect of secluded murder
And the deadly sky
beast
Could never build his fury and rage
If he is always
enthralled
By fancy and delicate things
An adventure in
lust with mother nature
And the wonders she has created
See they both have to kill
Just in drastically different
ways
One with the cling of famine
And the other with
a tyrant of blaze
Because when the night brings the wolves
You must not squander your days

This poem throws me off with its rhythm but I enjoy it. It is different and thats what makes it very enjoyable. Thank you for writing such a great piece!

I got on here not really reading, kind of just skimming a few pieces... I actually read this one once I scanned the first couple of lines. It's very powerful, you have a lot of potential to be a great poet, I love how you let your colors show through the poem, how you kind of dab in a different perspective of things. Very nice.
