Galveston -- A Lyrical Pictorial

By SilentStalker

Every line links to a different picture...some serious, some humorous, all inclusive in the trip. And since I'm merging so many images together in one write, I used a song that did very well at doing that before; some of you should be able to pick it off.

Ferry boats that didn't work

Surfing lessons from a jerk

Flood plan one

Or flood plan two?

Someday it will look like new.

People messin' with the sign

Fancy places left to dine

Shrimp Sushi

And Wasabi

Might not be that good for me

Let's all use the family van

Someone tried to get a tan

Sleepin' in

Still can't win

I don't think she's giving in

Who can spot the native here?

Liquor's cool, but where's the beer?

Spotting tail

Whores for sale?

At least someone's getting nailed!

I still can't believe you've all never seen houses on stilts.

  • A former member wrote: I live next to a river that floods regularly (usually just a few feet every couple years, enough to get basements wet) and still have only seen them in movies or newsreels. Sure could have used a few of those last year, when it hit nineteen feet, though. Might have saved a few million in damages...they were odd looking, all colorful and set up on blocks, like a kid's lego or erector set collection, scattered on a sandlot playground...

...I saw them in movies...but the kicker was when that live-in tea kettle gave a new meaning to "boat house"...that was definitely the the pinnacle of most hilarious/most effective... Scholar
