Requiem (Serenading Broken Celestials)

By Malice In Wonderland

I finally cut my hair
again
I watched
as the long tresses
you so adore
floated
to the ground
like the ash from your cigarette
like us
torn apart
irrelevant
and I
bit back tears
refusing
to dwell on memories
long nights and whispered conversations
the future
that could never [be]
finshed
like the writes
stacked in my journals
too painful to finish
too much to carry.
so I burned them all
instead
watched them
float up into the air
word
by busted
word
ever drifting
like vagrants
on the road
or plankton at sea
always going with the tides
regardless
of what whirlpool
they spin in to.

I also feel the burning of your metaphorical journal is a soothing part of this, almost like a fresh start complementing the opposite death related title (does that even make sense? Haha). Very nicely written rain, or malice if that's what you prefer to be called now.
