...silk.bookmark.thoughts...

By NikesRain

in lulling dulcet hues
between fragile onionskin pages
we reside you and i
sepia ink turned iridescent
with every whisper
of never ending softness

the way your hand rests
like moonlight on snowdrops
against the small of my back
promises written without weight
only visible in the sighs
of supple winter nights

our fingers thread together
in a symphony only angels hear
and my tears carry a thankfulness
only willows could understand
for my heart overflows
with the beauty you resonate

tuck me close against your heart
breathing in every reason
to melt into your tomorrow
like expiring icicles
crying into a river of release
exhaling the color of my eyes
and all that's left is hope

so speak gentle in muted tones
that wash us in a dream of ever after
like dewdrops gathering on violet petals
and we will remain you and i
in a wish of twilight hours
pressed seamless between forever and always
