Behind the Shadow Veil
By Winterwords
The sun has sunk
behind myriad clouds
dust grey
as the brittle stone
of time-worn, ageing graves
The vapours blanket out the light
the irridescence of blue
glimpsed - like the unveiling of an eye
lit fleetingly by the moon
As her enigmatic gaze
alights upon the earth
where there is nothing
but the breathing...
The breathing in of velvet air
the moisture of the shadows
where only silence bears
down, in tubular waves
As nature lies still
to the eye, unyet, underneath...
layer upon layer of the opaque
a silken labyrinth extends
Web-like growth begins and ends
here, where time is relative
as change weaves
the intricate, infinite web...
between the bony limbs of man
that hold promise of destruction
in blind and foolish hands
but here...
Life pours in rainbows
runs in circles of complexity
under the skin
through the vein...
...through the cell
through the dream
through the air
for all this...
...and everything
will change

you have hymns of raphaelism pouring in you; this write "breathing in of velvet air"~ exposes the very idea; the thick cloistered life of us, trying so desperately to just breathe, just BE. .. *wows
