not "beautiful"

By FadedBlues

She's a quiet woman,
not what you would call the 'life of the party'...
keeps her emotions in check for the most part,
except in her writing,
where her passion burns the page.

I won't call her beautiful,
the word is overused and probably not worthy of the
pedestal it's placed on by the modeling agencies and
gawking admirers of what is perceived as pulchritude.

I've always wondered if there is a word
more beautiful than 'beautiful'.
For years, I searched in vain
for that mysterious, unwritten word.

But I've finally found it...

She is the word.

This is so moving, I think most girls who read this would love to find that one person who thinks they are something more than beautiful. (Maybe one day I will feel brave enough to reveal my eyes to the world, until then they remain hidden, yet seeing all)

This actually moved me . . . in the region where I'm supposed to have a heart. Beautiful poem. Beautiful sentiment. Its subject is, indeed, a lucky woman.

To quote an old cliche' still waters run deep and sometimes beauty surfaces in the most unexpected places if you truly care to look deep enough. How wonderful of you to notice, and write about it.
