...assay a cold day...
By NikesRain
autumnal
steps always seem quicker
especially when we want it to stop and smell
the last romantic sighs on the roses
fall
fall in
fall.ing
what a proper and polite truth
the seasonal alchemy is breathtaking
my heart breaks with the beauty
beats in a myriad of minuets
descending with every leaf
green to gold and blood to bronze
brushed copper carpets abounding
precious metal spellbound workings
and in the moonlight
everything platinum
thousands of hues sweeping
a hundred metals reeling blissful
broken shaded rainbows abounding
spinning swan song metallic under the sun
treasured adorning and expiring upon the earth
autumnal steps always move swift
nearest the last blush of roses
quicker than we can wish for it to slow
begging for its art to last a little longer
yet winter is waiting just beyond the fringes
to be held and swept up and the first dance
of a november's last magical waltz

The change in seasons isn't really noticeable where I live, but the imagery in this piece is precise and brilliant enough to give me a glimpse at what it's like.

I love the beauty and movement conveyed in this piece, especially in the lines "what a proper and polite truth the seasonal alchemy is breathtaking my heart breaks with the beauty beats in a myriad of minuets descending with every leaf." Stunning work, my friend! Ciao, T/S
