hourglass.

By Malice In Wonderland

the sky was lined in colors
daisies
blooming amongst the stars
pheonix bound
falling
unto the dusted ground
fleeting and fiery
before fading to ash
in our emptied palms
we crumbled dried earth between our toes
and buried our ears into the warms sands of oblivion
fighting for all it was
that we used to know
hoping for the same wrinkled pages
that once told our stories
so well
we are so diminished now
slipping
everlong
through the cracks
of our once rigid ideals
now greyed with age
squinting through the cataracts of our
blurry thoughts
rewrite and erase until we can no longer distinguish
the truth
from reality
right from wrong
teetering on the precipice
of something intangible
soft and scary simultaneously
we fear
the flaws in perfection
the fading of the afterglow
we are
drops
in the bucket
only to be lost
in the sands
of time.

Dam Mal, this was so wonderful I can't tell you (so I won't). Struck a big nerve and I'm still vibrating, thanks!
