Deception

By Nehema

Religion is a defense mechanism against having a spiritual experience - Rumi

What are you really afraid of?

Looking deeper...

inside...?

Outside...?

Surface ripples reality

Reflections are ghosts

Of truth

Reflexively defensive

To prevent

Drowning in...

...bliss...

KNOW THYSELF

Misunderstanding the meaning of

Look in the mirror to gaze into the eyes of god

All eyes are gods eyes

Would you deny your own truth?

The horrors of hell

Cannot compare

To the horrors of life

Without truth

  • A former member wrote: A wonderful potd. Sufism, in my opinion, is one of the purest beliefs that exists amidst humans. To spend every day observing nature and witnessing the correlation between the love in nature and the love in man. There is a friend of mine named Sadredin Taheri, and his cd is called "The Hidden Beloved" on myspace. All his songs are musical recreations of Rumi poems. Check it out sometime, he's beautiful. Well done in capturing the essence of the meaning. Seems religion's misdirection is a theme for the week.

Nice Robyn, I'm sure someday we'll all look to the sky and see either the 4 Horsemen, or an alien ship returning to check on it's ant farm. Either way, my Spirit will always be free. Excellent. Til next time -

Thanks for reading n commenting. I wrote this a couple months ago after reading some Rumi poems, I highly recommend anyone to read him. His work is amazingly beautiful, not at all like what I wrote here, just some thoughts brought forth by his quote - XXOO Scholar

I get a sense that although this maybe inspired by the philosopher, it is very personal to you. Some thing you have had an intimate experience with. Perhaps severely deceived by someone trusted. Perhaps that person was so deceitful that they believed their own lies?

I have had that experience. Only one who has ever had the misfortune of knowing a pathological liar would understand. This poem is something I would say to such a person. GM

You are all figments of my imagination, I can look into God's eyes all the time when I gaze into the mirror, but then it's hard to tear myself away. "Mirror, mirror on the wall..." (Snow White's Mom). Most enigmatic but astutely analyzed and excellent, now it's back to the mirror again for a pick me-upper, cheers!
