Fireflies (with Jordyray)

By Malice In Wonderland

Do you remember that time, where we climbed over that broken wooden fence?
and scaled next doors garden, on a bed of roses, burst to the seams
We couldnt believe the beautiful thing, that was right before our eyes.
we saw a nest of fireflies, lying under a blanket of stars,
and the trees whispered, bedtime stories
In muted cadence we watched
the puzzle piece clouds cross by
colliding in pristine perfection
prefacing the paling opalescent moon

You screamed at the moon, eyes full up with such obsolesce and beauty,
I hope this night never ends, my never ending dream,
We took our lives by the neck, and went to our patched up roof,
And watch the stars, become matchstick counterparts...
and the streetlights
were burning in your smile

ash-and smoke cocktail
sided with subway train serenades

frail spirit
shining through waxen flesh.

Broken in dismay, the sky breathes all your favourite colours,
And you start to believe in something more,
Cupid shot his bow for all to adore,
Rose red arrows, caress you so,

The fireflies consume the garden down below,
Like tiny flickers of light, so beautiful and bright,
And we take off from your roof, and fly..

Peregrine winged perfection.
The moon is ours, like the fireflies below...
