Ouroboros
By Echoes of Orpheus
I kissed you for the first time
again last night,
in a now all too familiar dream.
I don't
know why I can't let it go.
Why I can't forget opening my eyes to
yours
a moment later,
and dreaming of a future
much different
than how it turned out.
I keep rekindling these memories and
sometimes I wonder
how many Phoenix's I will create
before
I can feel the warmth.
Nothing confuses me more
than when
I inevitably come to the conclusion
that I miss you.
Not
so much in a way
that I ever would or could
try to change things,
but I remember promises I
would rather die than break.
Promises to never stop loving you,
promises that I kept
and always will.
I feel guilty but have
come to accept
that this will never change.
I
just hope you won't judge me
if I smile going to sleep tonight;
hoping to kiss you for the first time.

The cycle of waiting, and it never ends. It's dizzy and dark and beautiful.

Acceptance although there is a lingering sadness hidden beneath. An all round touching piece.

i happen to like it... it's contemplative and truthful... almost like eavesdropping yet you can't not listen or feel where it's coming from... the sadness has a subtle grace that doesn't smother but makes you feel it enough to appreciate it... i thought it was exceptional

Very poignant. I don't like this one quite as well as your other work, but considering how much I like your work, that means this one is really something.

I don't like it as much either and it will likely be gone soon. Just a personal piece I had to get out of me tonight. thank you for your honesty.
