Pocketlife
By purr_verse
Your life
is ornate and magnificent,
wielding grandeur and potency;
beautiful, imposing, powerful
and effortlessly slicing
through all in your way.
I wish
I had such a life,
but I only have a pocketlife -
small,
easily lost
and disposable.
I must stay sharp,
search for your softness
and
push.

A pocket poem on a pocketlife and that desire within us all to find something greater, find that soft spot and push...A classic piece.

This is an astoundingly wrought metaphor... crafted in clever beauty..... thou that art to thought, nourishment, like darkness to a dying flame....beautifully striking as a stanza from Shelley.... *bows with gratitude* thank you for this sharp flash into the sublime..... well deserved POTD.

I think at times we all look at certain others through perfected pupils and think ....if only, as I too have, but ultimately it's the constant unfolding of my own accomplishments and misdemeanors that I grade in the wake of hindsight, and i wouldn't trade my tracks for any other shoe size....but dam I feel the mental temptation oh so often...brilliant write

I'm absolutely dumbfounded - I can't think of a way to describe how I enjoyed this, or even why. I just know that I loved it, it's a unique piece, and it's not exactly something I'd normally enjoy or expect.

I imagine that your life, much like this metaphor, is quite sparkling and impressive when unsheathed. The world would be a dull place if everyone was a broadsword. This was pure delight. Hmmm... Yes, fave.
