Autumn, Nevermore
By lupus tenebrae
The pictures of the featureless
were
taken once before
by river lens,
and sorry pens
were taken
once before
when fall was shaken to its core
and winter
made amends
with every leaf
in fallen grief
and winter-made
amends.
Her promise in the lower tens,
in snowy white
belief,
is colourless
or prism-less
in snowy white belief,
in contrasting her disbelief
in love as meaningless
as
cheating lore
with nevermore,
in love as meaningless.

Author's Note:
My love of seasonal poetry, put to another frame I suppose. This time, it's the roundabout style. Sorry for the generic title, nevermore is practically cliche by this point...Comments on "Autumn, Nevermore"

I am appalled I've somehow managed to miss your writings for...literal years. You're very, very, VERY fuckingly good. This is particularly so.

The first stanza was the best and most beautiful, while subsequent ones seemed to blow away as fallen leaves, cheers!
