Missing You

By SilentStalker

Here I lie down so blue on so sleepless a night,
As I can't fall asleep as I turn out the light;
For the sole thing I thought as you slipped out of sight
Was the time I was missing with you.

I remember me watching you walking away,
And forgetting the words that I wanted to say.
I tried thinking of something to tell you each day,
When a simple "I miss you" would do.

But each time that I see you, the words just won't come,
And I just utter nonsense and sound like I'm dumb.
And my hands start to shake, and my fingers get numb,
And I walk away feeling ashamed.

But I want to embrace you and tell you I care;
That my heart wants to break when I'm here and you're there,
And that seeing you leave is a thought I can't bear,
For I'd only have myself to blame.

    *wipes a tear* brings to mind a song.."I forgot, to tell you I love you" Its odd to see a member of the male species admit their emotions, but you do it so effortlessly.

    when all is said and done it is love that we want so why not write about it. And i think all us men know how dumb we get when in the company of a woman that just blows us away...I am with you on this write...well done..Silver

    Oh my Goddess...This is so sweet. What I wouldn't give to have someone feel that way for me, and to write it so eloquently. *Touched*

    No, not dark, but sad, none the less an enjoyable read

  • A former member wrote: Awww...so you can be all mushy huh? I really like the rhyme structure of this one. It flowed so smoothly. It was just beautiful...really. I think I might even read it again :)

  • A former member wrote: I agree, the I liked the rhyme scheme. And just keep in mind that "dark" is a pretty loose term, in my mind, for anything that pains our souls. Great heartfelt write. ~Urban Shipwreck~
