Still Life.

By Malice In Wonderland

I tried to draw a still life
once.

Charcoaled lines
That screamed across empty porcelain avenues

Like drawing souls
in the Sand at high tide
Constantly swept away
In a mood of seamless fury

You were like black coffee and cigarettes
Dark and drifting
Coils of smoke and ash
Scattered
In the storm

I fell asleep
By the shores
Waiting

on

A break in the Maelstrom

or

Smooth canvas
promising
Shaded knowledge
Among the coastlines

I scoured the sunsets
For all the colors
I never noticed
Splashed over the horizons
of an unconscious mind

But I woke up
and all I saw
was your name still traced in front of me

Your poem has become that still life that you couldn't draw, and it has captured the things you couldn't hold into a beautiful, wistful reverie. Scholar

A deep and quiet resignation is usually more forceful than an unleashed anger, as the latter produces this lingering miasma in the chest, and the former is usually a flash int he pan, eventful then forgotten. /hugs

There is a reason you've always been one of my favourites. However, I n-n-noticed an error. Just saying. :) ~b
