Indigo.

By Malice In Wonderland

You remind me of someone terminal
Blistered and pale
bitter and hopeless
you are wrapped in blue eyes and regret
streaming from bloodied fists,

Clutching at the remains of life
You held me in a grave of ashes
laced with decay and splintered bones

you fed me poison from pearlescent fingers
glittering like stars
and I called you my novacaine
swift and sweet
You ran through my veins like blackened epiphany
and I drowned myself in my seawater world of crystal and seaweed
blood, and stone

You faded
leaving me shaking and restless
wretching and rigid in disbelief
like watching the death of a god
with all the grace of a starving junkie

you are no one.
a crumbling diety
hoping for dignity
frantically scrabbling to pick up the pieces
of a broken heart
you're much too afraid to face.

I wonder... What makes an individual cave in.? The fact that we know and love those closest to us, and that through them we're susceptible to blaming ourselves. We allow those closest to us to destroy us, and then we watch them step over the pieces and walk away. Why would they stick around..? They rather someone else to clean up the mess. And It's up to us, if we allow them to return and reopen the old wounds. Sometimes it's the only love that's known and so begins the cycle. I'm saddened by this, but I'm in a manic state lately so it's normal to me. Great display of emotion and attitude portrayed in this piece. .I've missed your face. Scholar
