A Timid Goodnight

By lupus tenebrae

You flicker as
an unfamiliar
silhouette

then tease my
empty spectrum
with a kettle
and a timid way
of call-

ing coffee black.
I sigh, but play along;
your curves yet
bidding me

goodnight.

    the picture you told in this made my mind go in a hundred different places. As they said, "a picture holds a thousand words". Beautiful piece, lupus. (:

    I need a thesaurus for the word "beautiful" - and I'll echo "tender". You are a poet to admire, no doubt. I'm glad this was featured so I wouldn't miss it. This jump started my day.
