Setting Myself Free

By Nehema

 Encased in this vacant prison

               Agonizing

                        Fists hurting

                From pounding and clawing

The walls run red with my blood

Adrenaline

   Heart racing

        Fear shredding

                 My soul apart

Searing

      Pain in my head

           Can't concentrate

       I've forgotten who I am

                                        Why I'm here

Scorching

   Throat on fire

Screaming and shouting

                                         Trying to be heard

Aching

     All over my body

               Muscles throbbing from overlong stress

       Too much fighting......

I CAN'T MAINTAIN THIS ARTIFICIAL LIFE

Time to give in

          Relax

Let the murky water envelop me

             In merciful darkness

Death

      Leads to rebirth

            Renewel of the Soul

                 Replenish what was lost

Start anew

Rekindle that lost love for life

               ABSOLUTION IS MINE

  • A former member wrote: i like your comment "...only recently gained the courage to correct my position in life..."...so true. It is ours to create, ours to shape. Takes great courage to do so, alot of soul searching and deep looking. Lovely.

I actually wrote this 8 years ago and only recently gained the courage to correct my position in life. Thanks to a lot of the support I've received from friends here on DP, I know I will make it. Your voices make a huge difference, you should all know that - thanks - XXOO Scholar

NOt so sure your freedom will be to your liking, otherwise why all the trials and tribulations beforehand, when we could just take the shortcut, but for fear of the unknown? Anyway, you belong to us now so suck it up Robyn, this was fine as all your stuff always is (and you too)!

I love you dwells, this prison I'm breaking out of is one of my own building. I spent the last 15 years building it because I was scared of my identity. No longer afraid, I'm ready to face the world on my terms. I appreciate your support & your work gives me strength, as well as others here - XXOO Scholar

...desperation can be an enemy or an ally, I think. it can lead to your downfall or force you into correcting your position. this is strong, the title being that which we all want to achieve...
