Polaris (Lullabye for the Weary)

By Malice In Wonderland

When I think on it
You have always been
My north star
beautiful and strong
Shining,
Unattainable in the distance
glittering through the mists

And I would
Find myself
Choking
On my lack of faith
Wandering
idly
To worship at your seamless temples
Of the light
Radiating
Through the dark

Reveling in the gracious beauty
That is you

And I
Look to your messages
Like Lipstick scrawled along the cosmos
Your stories
still pass my lips
Solace for my restless soul
Aching and weary
You still renew my strength
Effortless in the gloom

But even the stars
Cry

And
Beautiful Polaris
I would break my hands
To sooth your hurts
And fix your broken celestials

Because
Some things
Are too perfect
To let slip away

Beautiful piece, you describe someone very special. The feeling of knowing that there is someone you would give your last breath makes one diamond strong.

hahahaha, definately not about a dude, just a very close friend going through a hard time. but the love is still there. ;) Scholar

Those unattainables...a presence so powerful & irresistible that the very thought of being near the person is enough to sustain & strengthen you through the darkest of your days...but it's the one that gives you the confidence to realize that you ARE "good enough" to attain their company & affections that are worth fighting for. The one that treats you as an equal. It's been a joy to watch you evolve over the nearly 3 years that I've been a member here. I think you improve with every write. Scholar
