Veiled Facade ~feat VesicaPiscis~

By Nehema

looking into the night,
breathing in the fog,
reaching up to arc the light,

seeing the silver lining,
its circle cut...

illuminated by your might,
searching for reason and rhyming

could you uncover my riddles?
then just rob me blind?
give every reason that I'll need,
to never look behind

could you make my next breath worth taking,
discovering truth in all its guises,
embrace an existence worth making

or will you go on with your faking...
over-inflating the lie?
love me despite scrutiny, forsaking

will you say that you love me?
though you're ignorant to the truth?
having never seen my authentic self?
are you unaware of what you do?

pull it from under...
never needed the rug...
never mind my needs,
just give it the tug

hard to see the silver lining,
when what I am shifts in defining

when the mask I wear, a token unfair,
something just for you I invented,
only loving me when it's there

could you make me believe your fantasy?
would I choose to dwell in delusion?
to keep pace with my vanity

whilst I inhume my sanity

to believe in a love my soul knows is untrue
could I,
would I,
choose the illusion

tis what's required, be with you

Oh how your words hurt me so,
both of us knowing the truth,
they wrench at my soul

I accept the responsibility,
blamed, though not your fault,
as the fault lies in my adaptability,

my inane nature to indulge...

wow... a deep introspective look into one's self... not many of us truly know our authentic self. It took quite a journey for me to find mine. It is freedom once you discover it. A freedom I wish for the both of you- my beautiful friends.

...if we had a closet full of personalities, that we could change like clothes to suit the occasion...wouldn't that be great?...

Unfortunately some people require it instead of accepting us for who we really are. This is an extremely personal piece for me. Thought it was for one person, the more we wrote, the more I realized I have personalities for several people in my life. Justin is an amazing therapist, one of his Scholar
