Remember Me Nots

By lupus tenebrae

The curtains?
Ignore the man behind them,
just watch the disembodied head,
as it’s the more impressive show.

Don’t mind the backroom,
the forbidden unknown,
the tatters of packing peanuts,
chances are, it’s nothing special.

A pin dropped somewhere,
as did a tree fall,
but it made no noise, right?
Then don’t bother replanting it.

Snapdragons, daffodils, marigolds,
but no wallflowers,
this is the trellis you wanted,
whitewashed and thistle free?.
