The Devil Wouldn't Buy my Soul
By Echoes of Orpheus
He'd hand me the world
and crown me king.
But
I'd sell my soul
for but one thing...
"Your throne would be the tallest.
The world would know your name."
My throne would seat but only one;
so all would be the
same.
"Women would line to be yours,
a
selection every night."
The fire in my heart she extinguished,
never could they ignite.
Keep your gold,
demon,
your castles and crowns,
Your power, your women,
your dollars and pounds.
Keep it all, demon,
you know well my toll.
Just let me have her
and I'll
sign you my soul.
"It cannot be done,
no, not by me.
I cannot
give you heaven;
and yours lies within she."

What a beautiful message this tells. I could not agree more with Sketso. Heaven is when that hole in your heart is filled.

sinner perhaps, as are all, but chasing the ultimate prize... pure love. Is that not heaven? Yet so many settle for hell, selling cheaply what you say cannot be bought.

Can't cheat to get it, there's no shortcuts with love. People don't seem to like that idea, some people anyways.

The things we'd do for love can be quite extreme...and why not...it is what we live for. (some of us anyways)...You never fail in capturing that feeling of hope even in your deepest of despair pieces. Perfect.
