Farewell

By SilentStalker

And here I stare into your face
Reminded of your kind embrace
Recalling all the sorrow when
I never heard your voice again

You came along; you held my hand
You pulled me up; you made me stand
I never felt such love before
But now I can expect no more

You walked alone that dreary night
Through alleyways which bore no light
And all around you someone roamed
And never did you make it home

I felt such rage; I felt such pain
My anger streamed without refrain
I searched around in endless strife
And found the one who took your life

I killed the man with no remorse
My pain was only getting worse
The cops--they saw what I had done
They had me trapped; I could not run

I gave up then; I'd done my job
And entered their car with a sob
And as they drove ever so slow
I told them where I had to go

I had to se the one I loved
More precious than the stars above
They understood; they let me be
They knew what you had meant to me

And here you are, so frail, so young
Your destiny still left unsung
You once were strong, but now you're gone
And I made sure justice was done

With pain I let a piercing cry
Imploring God to let me die
This incident had crushed my heart
My very life was torn apart

But then I felt your loving smile
The peace I needed all the while
But I just killed; I won't pretend
So now I pay; goodbye my friend
