By lupus tenebrae
Heritage Port, its
scenic shores put to canvas,
pristine and preserved;
a moment of its frailty
dignified with forever.

I read this and what came to my mind was looking at a picture painted of a port, I don't know the true meaning or inspiration behind it, but for me I was taken to that first thought. I love it when work that I read takes me to a place of imagination.

That's actually the initial inspiration, Heritage Port is a scenic location in my home city, and there are numerous water colour paintings of it in the library, I was there for the Wheeling Series of Poetry and had some time to kill before it began, so I wrote this while I was waiting.

Guessing a view of the Hilton Head lighthouse Wolfie. We have the Cape Florida light on a smaller scale but inop since attacked by Seminoles during the 1800s. Vestiges of another time that still remain but will eventually be reclaimed by time and the elements. Cheers! - Dan
