riverside snow white

By Star

dear river lily,

stay floating
in the clearest of
waters and let the wind
push it's way through.

it's god's breath cooling you
off on the hottest of days.

i'm sure you'll stand
you roots in the deepest
parts of the river and i'm
sure you'll hold to
the steadiest of boulders.

you know, the fish
are envious of you.
i heard them whisper
while you were
asleep.

they said that they're
jealous because you can
feel the heat of the sun
on your face. and how you can
breathe in your surroundings.

they also said that
you're the prettiest thing
they laid their eyes on.

the riverside snow white
they called you.

i know you'll
grow into a tiger lily
one day.

the river told me
that that's what
he's scared about the most.

Brandi you really are a beautiful and selfless soul. This tribute to the beautiful, River Lily, is absolutely gorgeous. Well deserving! You rocked that pen, love. -Bows Scholar
