kiss me in the rain (we have no worries)
By heroineyes
i get up in the morning
get dressed and look
out through the rush-
hour smog of the city.
have a cigarette with
my morning cup of coffee,
wake up and feel truly
self destructive.
smoke and drink my world
away cause what our politicians
say won't answer all my questions.
so shut my mouth
and close my eyes
everyone's dancing
and it's raining all the while.
it's kinda like a dream,
but i felt i had more control.
falling from the sky,
or maybe the sky
was falling on me;
nevertheless,
i'm just glad i woke up.
alone beneath the stars
with everything i fear'
i'm jealous of the moon tonight
(as you get to see Her).
nevertheless,
the worries aren't very important.
i'll cradle You in my arms
(for love is small and very frail).
everytime i look at the stars
i know we aren't far apart.
and i'm glad i woke up
or i might have missed You.

Ventured back to this piece to place a comment I should have upon my first reading. other than the cigarettes and coffee, this poem is very descriptive of my days here... Well written

Lovely, lovely write, I really like the stanza about the falling sky. Very eloquent work.

This is one of the best pieces I have ever read on here. It speaks with such clarity. Even the imagery is so very vivid. It must be some wonderful, enchanting love you feel because it is evident the inspiration must have been born of a gorgeous muse for there is substance here not found in others one's heart finds ordinary. This is grace incarnate and not only a tribute, but an admirable testament of love. Thank you. I find this humbling. Much Respect.
