Eye Eater
By Maladroit
There have been times that I sent myself the emails I wrote you
I spill.
I enclose a disclose,
then, I send it to myself
because we don't talk anymore-
Thinking,
if I accumulate these messages,
when you finally wake with some sort of audacity,
inquiring about why I never tried,
I will hand it to you-
all of it
because it's a matter of time before you forget that someone cares.
This cycle of you is repetitive with forgetfulness-
used as an excuse to disperse-
A grand exit
I know you-
you'll fall to the floor wondering why nobody called when you pushed them
away,
why nobody pushed back,
thinking someone is meant to save you-
that your story only ends happily due to enforcement,
like you somehow deserve it this way-
naturally,
people should chase
and pursue
and swim in misery that belongs to you, and you alone
But I don't instill
I only quietly insist
I don't believe in the effort of saving
nor changing
nor convincing
I don't bark up trees
hunting for squirrels
who are more fur than a meal in meat....
but, I do write you,
because I like to be right.

Your conclusions are always flawless but I do have to say something critical. Real life doesn't work out like the notebook. lol

"thinking someone is meant to save you- that your story only ends happily due to enforcement, like you somehow deserve it this way" - great piece! This explains so many disfunctional relationships...I love the closing line, as I think it also hints at justification for carrying a torch not worth carrying. Great work! Ciao, T/S

Now that the world has gotten smaller it seems like these technological advances that make it so easy to talk drive us apart, though on the other hand would we have met some otherwise? How many of us want to follow through and meet each other face to face? Even if all you go home with is an experience, at least for a moment you were alive somewhere were the pain was bearable with purpose. We can't hide from pain or choose not to feel it. If you can you're not human. We walk through it. I like this write.

I remember once when I looked at the end of the hall. My mom placed a full length mirror there. The mirror did not last.

I don't go barking up trees either. Though I understand that I am more the person that finds it easier to push others away. I don't often cry about the fact that I am alone. I chose my loneliness. This was a great eye opening piece..

you said it all. there is nothing left for me to add except perhaps an echo... and an understanding of being the eater and the eaten. xo

I know someone like this. "I know you- you'll fall to the floor wondering why nobody called when you pushed them away, why nobody pushed back, thinking someone is meant to save you". Some people are just addicted to misery. beautiful piece.

Sounds like my ex and - my bad for not being the end all with the wherewithal to entertain, amuse, and tickle slightly - but never significantly. Both left wanting something more, cheers Mala!

very different, i like it, people always want to be saved or save someone and it doesn't work unless the person wants to be better. I really loved this one.
