Austere Cloak of Night (ft. GhettoZombie & ColorMeToxic)
By lupus tenebrae
I stare into the austere cloak of night,
a tired mind stirring cirrus
clouds from REM sleep with verse
Stuck in time, some wounds are just too damn deep,
lifelike dreams, are torturing.
Skipping beats, heart stands still.
Woke up in a sea of perspiration.
Bloodshot eyes, I must extend
olive branch to moisture,
damp visage rendered murky in low-light,
silty sheen worn like lustrous
diamond, afire with dawn.
Amber warmth depicted in afterglow
Making a valiant effort
To shine brighter than all
Preserve the sunshine; never neglect it.
Skeleton keys must be used.
When dungeons trap the light.
Shackles shed in rebellion, crumple to
the side, light freed: an unbound
hostage given solace.
Astounded by the realization,
the beast that lives within, can
and will be tamed. Conquer.
Domesticated, feral, wild, or stray
the moon is still a place to
howl with sincerity

that's very impressive but not suprizing. I had to go back to a few stanzas because some flowed and rhymed so well, I went back to the stanza and found no word that rhymed those smooth words together. that takes talent and you guys got it down. awesome!

Great job guys! This piece is beautiful and hypnotic from start to finish! I hope you won't end with just a trilogy, judging from the other piece you all produced. Wonderful work. Ciao, T/S

I love all three of you, your writing is superb. The last stanza... "The moon is still a place to howl with sincerity." Drove the ice iron spike home for me. Unnerving, you can't hide from a truth like that. Reminds me of my own work; Stranger Moons. Thank you for breathing.
