When first i saw your face

By BetaWolfinVA

When first i saw your face
I had already fallen in love online
With your mind and your soul
Would that i had been paying attention to your face
As i saw you accross the top of my car

Online when you first approached me
I thought the one had found me
I wonder what crimes i'd committed
By the time i found that you weren't nineteen
Was i fooled when you agreed with the minimum

Was i truly surprised
Four months later when i found your age
These years later i take the shame
I wonder why your mother did not call the lightnings
When first she saw me or When i was asleep on the couch

after you left me that time I died inside,
it took me years to regain my heart or even my art
having married, your return was awkward for me
but you made me come alive again
you let me hold my soul for a short time..

Seven years after first we met, your mother asked me
If you living in my house damaged my first marriage
I hedged when I told her the truth 'no'
What i didnt say is that it was already dead
When first i tried to add you to save my sanity

she told me she was nineteen when we met online then she told me she was sixteen when we met in person four therapists say that I am not a danger to myself or others that I am a nurturer... all these years later, she does not want *her* dirty laundry aired, so I do not have the right to relieve my guilt Scholar
